Future Scouts
Future Scouts is a youth development program focused on developing 21st century survival skills. Using speculative design, world building, and rapid prototyping participants are challenged to imagine futures and design artifacts that act as provocations for understanding present day issues.
UN Sustainable Development Goals and Buckminister Fuller’s design philosophy acted as starting points for participants across Spain and Los Angeles who were challenged to “Make the world work for 100% of humanity in shortest time possible with the least offense to anyone.”
Over 1000 youth designed and built prototypes to some of the world’s most wicked problems and learned to see the many ways global challenges are interconnected on Space Ship Earth.
